Since 2006 there has been a ban on carrying liquids in your hand luggage after police in Britain discovered a terrorist plot to destroy transatlantic flights using explosives hidden in soft drink cans.
Many travellers have had their expensive perfumes, drinks and suncreams condfiscated at airports as a result of this causing much stress and frustration at the loss of their belongings.
The Eu Commission said "By 29 April 2013 at the latest, all liquids will be allowed in cabin baggage and will be screened,"
From early 2011, duty free drinks and perfumes purchased at third country airports or on board third country airlines and carried in tamper-proof bags will be allowed and will be screened.
This is great news for both the traveller and the duty free shops as we will be allowed to return to what was an enjoyable part of a journey - grabbing all the bargains duty free has to offer.
